Hi there! I’m Amanda, a jack-of-all-trades creative based in Buffalo, NY and passionate about marketing in all its forms. I’m known for my unique perspective, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, and consider myself a cheerleader and optimist in professional settings. I’m interested in working with like-minded people who I can learn from and laugh with, particularly in the marketing and content creation industries.
Some fun facts about me- I’m casi fluente in Spanish, I’m passionate about minimalism, mindfulness and meditation, and my favorite books are Fahrenheit 451, The Bell Jar and A Year of Less. When I’m not clackety-clacking on a keyboard for work, I like to hike, bike, meditate, read, and explore the culinary landscape of Buffalo. My favorite food is eggplant parmesan and my three dogs are my sun, my moon, and my stars.
Thank you for stopping by!
I created this case study for my Haley Marketing Group application using the position requirements you’ve outlined in your application description- craft a digital marketing strategy, create original content, ensure it is search engine optimized, and develop a social media strategy. It centers around Deb Deluca, a writing coach focused on self-publishing who’s seeking AP Marketing’s digital marketing services and social strategy.
This project is a testament to my roles as quick learner, enthusiastic researcher, creative thinker, and marketing fanatic.
As Marketing Coordinator at The W Spa, I’ve written, managed and posted all blogs, email newsletters, social media posts, and graphic and web designs. I’ve redesigned the spa’s website, established a cohesive brand “vibe,” updated photography and videography content across the board, and maintained sales and engagement through the COVID-19 shutdown. I’ve also create campaigns across social media platforms to promote spa services through a mix of graphic designs and curated videos, which you can find on our Facebook and Instagram below:
I’ve also had the pleasure of establishing Social Media Marketing internship and Instagram Coordinator positions, and have been lucky enough to train the incredibly talented women that fulfill those roles- Emma and Stefani. I created an onboarding packet and workbook for Emma at the start of her internship to ensure her orientation was as smooth as possible, and that I could distill in her the wealth of knowledge I had accumulated about life at The W Spa since I was hired. Clicking around these documents can give you an idea of my leadership style, writing abilities, and warm, genuine interest in human relationships.
Though I’d been playing around with social media and web design for quite some time before, I was fairly late in the marketing game at Canisius when I took my first (and only!) marketing class the fall of my senior year- Principles of Marketing. This is where I fell hard for all things business and marketing, particularly marketing strategy and social media.
I was grouped with a team of really amazing young women (including Emma, whose testimonial you’ll read in a minute!). We were were tasked with running marketing simulations through a game focused on the automobile industry, called ZOOM. As the professor explained our assignments, I daydreamed about what could give our group an advantageous edge. What kind of car would I want to drive as an empowered young professional? I approached the group on our first day with the idea for an auto company called HERA, named after goddess of all goddesses. Our cars would be marketed specifically to women, and we would have four different automobiles at varying price points that targeted women throughout their entire consumer life cycle. Fun and lots of hard work ensued as we created a brand based on empowerment, inspiration, and philanthropy (one of our mock goals, for example, was to donate 10% of our profits by 2030 to organizations that work to end sex trafficking).
Below is our final marketing plan, copyedited by yours truly, if you’d like to take a look.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I look forward to hearing from you.
